English As A Second Language & Citizenship

There is no charge for ESL and Citizen Preparation classes for Wallingford residents.
English for the Foreign-Born English for various skill levels, if you are new to our country, or if you never learned English. The course runs for 14 weeks and meets at the Learning Center. You may choose between two different time schedules:
Monday & Wednesday: 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Classes begin on January 4 Instructors: Staff Teachers
Monday - Thursday: 9:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. Classes begin on January 4 Instructors: Staff Teachers
(ESL) Reading, Writing, and Pronunciation for Everyday Living Intermediate and above ESL learners are encouraged to join this lively course. Conversations regarding current issues and events are expanded into reading and writing. All aspects of sound language learning are developed. A variety of technology is employed, but no skills are required to enroll. This course runs for 14 weeks and meets at the Learning Center beginning on January 8.

Citizen Exam Preparation Course Prepare for the U.S. Citizenship exam. We will review American history, as well as, the functions of our local, state, and federal government. We discuss typical exam questions, and you will receive help with the naturalization application. You may join the Citizenship Exam Preparation course at anytime during the semester. American Living Do you want to learn about current events, finances (money), basic writing, computers, and how the U.S. Government works? Come to an American Living class. You must be regularly attending Intermediate or Advanced ESL classes to attend this class. Students who have graduated from ESL classes are welcome to attend also. This course runs for 16 weeks. Classes begin January 4.
