This course prepares the students to care for the sick and elderly under the direction of a Registered Nurse (R.N.). It is an entry-level paraprofessional position in the health care field. CPR training is included. Completing this program enables you to take the state registry exam for a state Certified Nurse Assistant.
Classroom instruction is held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. for 16 weeks at Lyman Hall High School. Scheduled clinical sessions from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. are at state licensed nursing homes.
The fee for the state registry exam is included in tuition cost; however, tuition does not include physical exam, uniform and required textbook. A pretest and interview are required for acceptance into this program.
